Why raw tokens get through
Mail merge matches by name, not by meaning. A template written with [firstname] and a spreadsheet column named First Name look identical to a reader and different to the tool, so the message arrives with the bracket intact. The checker exists to catch exactly that mismatch before a send.

Do token names have to match exactly?
A token and a column match when their text matches after trimming and lowercasing, so [First Name] matches a first name column. Near misses that do not match are listed as possible typos.
Can I check several rows of contacts?
